This Handbook helps your Public Housing Programs be more effective . . .

The Public Housing Program is one of HUD's largest national affordable housing programs, serving about 1.2 million families in 14,000 public housing developments in all 50 states, and administered by more than 3,000 Housing Authorities.  The Public Housing Operating Fund subsidy budget is currently about $3.6 billion annually.  Other special Public Housing Programs are accounted for separately.

This Handbook's Comprehensive Index includes 140 pages of major Public Housing Regulations in current CFRs, and nearly 400 pages of comprehensive index, with about 7,000 entries, and over 120,000 references, organizing access to the main sources of regulatory and management control of Public Housing Programs:

  • Statutory and Federal Regulations, most notably in 24 CFR

  • HUD Forms,

  • HUD Guidebooks and Handbooks,

  • PIH Notices, and

  • Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policies (ACOP) for local agency rules and procedures.

The goal of this Handbook is to simplify Public Housing management, and save time for the busy Public Housing Administrator and Affordable Housing Professional.

This Handbook Series helps you manage your Public Housing, Section 8, and MultiFamily Programs more efficiently . . .
